Where is the Download?
This game is not released yet, so no download will be made available until then. Only Beta Testers can currently download the game.
How do I get into the Beta Test
Several rounds of beta tests are due to start shortly. If you want to be a part of this, then reply to this topic.
When will a download be available?
When the game is released. The game is currently having its last features added, and then will undergo some testing.
Then the process to add content (i.e. more planes, scenery, scenarios etc) will occur.
Hopefully not long after that, you'll see a download on this website. Your best bet is to either become a member of this site, or subscribe to my twitter, youtube or RSS feeds to get notified. Definitely happening in [s]2012[/s] [s]2013[/s] DEFINITELY 2014!
What system(s) is Storm Clouds available for?
Storm Clouds over the Western Front will be available for Windows only. Linux and perhaps Mac could be possibilities in the future, depending on demand.
The Xbox 360 version has been dropped due to a poor outlook of the XBLIG market, and what seems to be Microsoft leaving the market place to die.
Who is working on this project?
Currently it is just I, a singular person. I am known around the internet as either Darklight, Xbattlestation or 2DFlightSim, and sometimes just plain Simon
This project is being written in my spare time, outside of my day job, and my other day job of looking after my baby son, so progress can be slow at times. I am not currently looking for any help, although any suggestions or ideas would be warmly received. Is Storm Clouds just going to feature WW1?
Storm Clouds over the Western Front is WW1 only, although there are some WW2 & early jets playable in the dogfight mode.
I plan on releasing later versions that include WW2 Pacific, WW2 Europe, Vietnam, Falklands, and Iraq or Afghanistan campaigns. Each of these is planned to be a individual release (free on Windows, small fee on Xbox).
The paid version of Storm Clouds (Windows only) will contain all of these campaigns as they are created, plus more extras. Also the paid version will be mod-able, so modders will be able to create their own planes & campaigns, and distribute them freely.
Is Storm Clouds going to be free?
Storm Clouds over the Western Front will be free on Windows, the extended version (with user content) will be paid.
